The Dog House has opened in Truro and it’s not what you may think.
The new facility is the city’s first co-working business hub set in a cafe.
Located in Pydar Street, the Dog House is the brain child of Lily’s of Truro foodie independent cafe and aims to offer the perfect environment for people who self employed people or visitors to the city looking for a place to enjoy a professional environment and meet like-minded people and network too.
Why Cornwall is the best place in the world to do digital business
Lily’s of Truro owner, Andrew Talbot, said: “There is an increasing demand for people to use CoWorking Spaces and join like-minded entrepreneurs. More people are now working for themselves, or have the flexibility to work from numerous locations.

“The corner of your sofa at home is often not an ideal environment to be productive, or you need somewhere to meet clients when visiting Truro.
“The Dog House’s flexible rental model answers current business trends and offers a friendly environment, where people can be productive, whilst linking and benefiting from working alongside like-minded people.”
The Dog House offers 10 desks, each equipped with their own power and USB points.
There is also The Think Tank Private Meeting Room for up to eight people including a large presentation screen, a break-out area for informal meetings and high speed WiFi.
Mr Talbot said being in Truro city centre also means that the Dog House is a perfect place to base yourself from and for meeting clients while being handy for the Pydar House office of Cornwall Council, Truro Crown, county and magistrates courts or a spot of shopping in the city centre.

Lily’s of Truro was opened in November 2016 by owners Andrew Talbot and Simon Kerr.
Mr Talbot said that after years of travel, experience in the hospitality industry and a love for Cornwall, the pair decided to make their permanent home in the county.
He added: “We’ve have always felt that Cornwall is neglected by big business. We were attracted by the entrepreneurial nature of the county’s business culture.
“Lily’s of Truro is an independent cafe, which offers fresh food that makes you feed good, locally roasted coffee, relaxing teas and healthy juices. Open throughout the week, there is a relaxed vibe, great music and a friendly welcome.
“The Dog House is the perfect environment for the self employed, or visiting business people who are looking for a great working environment, with flexibility to fit around their agenda.”
